Smoothie bowl – my favorite breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And now it’s also my favorite meal! Ever since I started making smoothie bowls for breakfast, my mornings have simply started off better. I will share a simple recipe for the smoothie bowl I make most often lately. My favorite!

Why is it my favorite?

Well, where should I start… First of all, a smoothie is delicious. Second of all, it’s healthy. Third, it gives me all the vitamins I really need during the day. I just simply love it. And it’s so easy. If you don’t have a blender, get that as soon as possible. You will need it to make your yummy smoothies. And trust me you will be hooked. A smoothie is something else than a Spanish breakfast, that I ate when I was in Seville, haha. That’s for sure! Even though I loved eating the Spanish way when I was there, I love my smoothie bowls when I am at home.

Simple, quick and easy – three words describing my smoothie

The recipe I will share with you today is really simple, quick, and easy. Those three keywords might be why I love it so much. I don’t spend a whole lot of time making it in the morning, but I still get a breakfast that I honestly enjoy so much. At the moment it’s my favorite. Another thing that I find so genius about a smoothie, it’s that you can switch up the ingredients really easily, and get a completely different taste. Because of that I absolutely recommend you to tweak my recipe if you want to. If you prefer some ingredients more than those I use, feel free to switch them out. I’m sure the result will be delicious either way.

The actual smoothie recipe

We all know that a smoothie bowl is just a regular smoothie put in a bowl right? Well if you didn’t know it, now you do. Hehe, sorry for spoiling it for you! Some might think that my recipe is boring since it’s very basic, but that’s what I really love about it. Then I can play around with toppings.

You need…
– 1 banana (preferably quite mature so that it’s extra tasty and soft)
– a handful or two of frozen strawberries
– soy milk with vanilla taste

Put it all in the blender and, well – blend. Be careful that you don’t put in too much liquid at first. I love to just put in a little splash, and then see how the blend evolves. I then put in a bit more if it’s needed. You will just have to decide how chunky you want it. I absolutely love to have it quite thick when I eat it as a smoothie bowl. If I take it as a smoothie to go, I do it thinner, which means that I add more liquid. It is pretty interesting how smoothies are so simple and yet sooo good for you.

Toppings of your own choice – one of the best things when it comes to the smoothie bowl

The final step to get the perfect smoothie and especially if you take it as a smoothie bowl is to add toppings. When I do my classical bowl that I just shared the recipe on, I top it with some fresh mixed berries (whatever I have available), and also maybe half a banana that I slice up and put nicely on the top. I love to put almonds or chia seeds as well. The great thing is that you can choose your favorite, or just mix it up depending on what you feel like that day.
